We Are The Starry Eyed 28-Day Challenge

-DAY 17:  MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE

TRUTH:  What four words describe your current first impression on someone? What four words describe your ideal first impression? Kind, Welcoming, Friendly, Relatable… These are the four first impressions of one person I recently met.  I could tell right away that she was a person I like to be around.  Four great qualities and four characteristics I hope others take away when they first meet me.  Kind, Welcoming, Loyal, True… These are the four traits that I find ideal in a first impression.  Kind- Everyone should be kind.  It’s not always the easiest thing to give to people, but those are the types of people who make differences in our world.  Welcoming- It feels good to feel like you can say anything without the fear of being judged.  Loyal- Having someone who is a safe place that you can trust and rely on is something everyone should have.  It can get pretty lonely if you never find loyalty in anyone.  True- I want to be around someone who is real.  Who doesn’t put up a front to make themselves look better.  I want to see you at your best and your worse and I hope you’ll let me do the same.  Let’s be real with one another and show everyone that it is okay to not have our lives put together 24-7.  06/02/2017

DARE:  Guerilla decorate the closest bus stop.  No bus stop nearby? Make a public place a little more hospitable by adding something beautiful.

-DAY 18:  POWER OF STORY

TRUTH:  What is your biggest regret?  What do you need to forgive yourself for? My biggest regret is not being able to keep Emilia from dying.  I know I did nothing that caused her death and I know I couldn’t have stopped it, but I will always hold myself personally responsible.  I will always wonder if there wasn’t more that I could have done.  As a parent, we have a responsibility to protect our children.  I wasn’t able to protect Emilia and because of that, she is gone.  Perhaps with time, I will find a way to forgive myself, as of now, I know that is no time soon.  06/03/2017

DARE:  Send a note of encouragement to the person you least want to send it to.

-DAY 19:  EYES AND CALLING

TRUTH:  What is the motto for this era of your life? “There is no footprint so small that it does not leave an imprint on this world” This is my new mantra.  What a beautiful and bold statement.  I think a lot of times we as human beings feel like we are just a small part of our world’s existence.  We feel like we can never make a big impact on the communities around us.  That statement for the most part is kinda true.  There is only so much one person can do in their lifetime.  Alone, the impact we can create is nothing compared to what we can build with the help of others.  However, can you imagine what kind of world we would live in if nobody would even attempt to try to better the world – only because they didn’t think they could make a difference? There would never be great inventions like electricity or motor vehicles.  There would be no cures for deadly and rampaging diseases.  Our life on earth would cease to existence as we know it.  Emilia’s Wings is almost halfway to our monetary fundraising goal of purchasing and donating a CuddleCot to an area hospital.  This project is something that cannot be done alone and we have so many people to be thankful for – so many who have donated resources that have allowed us to get this far.  It makes me smile from ear to ear to see this project unfold into something so special and to think it all began with the short life of one tiny, beautiful soul.  Emilia, your time on earth was brief, but your little life spoke volumes! What a huge imprint your tiny little feet are leaving on this world!  06/04/2017

DARE:  Use the words “I enjoy you” to tell someone you love them.

-DAY 20:  LIVE LIKE MUSIC

TRUTH:  Listen to a song that reminds you of a significant memory.  Write out the lyrics.  Gone Too Soon – Daughtry

Today could’ve been the day, That you blow out your candles, Make a wish as you close your eyes.  Today could’ve been the day, Everybody was laughin’, Instead I just sit here and cry.  Who would you be? What would you look like, When you looked at me for the very first time Today could’ve been the next day of the rest of your life.

Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you.  I’m always asking why this crazy world had to lose, Such a ray of light we never knew.  Gone too soon, yeah.

Would you have been president? Or a painter, an author or sing like your mother.  One thing is evident, Would’ve given all I had, Would’ve loved ya like no other.  Who would you be? What would you look like? Would you have my smile and her eyes? Today could’ve been the next day of the rest of your life.

Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you.  I’m always asking why this crazy world had to lose, Such a ray of light we never knew.  Gone too soon, yeah.

Not a day goes by, oh. I’m always asking why, oh.  Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you.  I’m always asking why this crazy world had to lose, Such a beautiful life we never knew.  Gone too soon. You were gone too soon, yeah.

And not a day goes by, That I don’t think of you.  06/05/2017

DARE:  Get tickets to a concert or play.  Start a standing ovation.
