Emilia’s Wings

Bringing Light Out of Mourning

Emilia’s Wings is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Kansas City, Missouri, dedicated to raising awareness and providing compassionate support for families affected by pregnancy and infant loss.

Founded in memory of Emilia Madeleine Rose Clough, who was born still on March 15, 2017, at North Kansas City Hospital, Emilia’s Wings was created by the Clough family as a way to honor Emilia’s life and extend comfort to others walking a similar path.  Our mission is to normalize conversations around grief and ensure that no family endures loss in silence.

  • Advocate for families who have experienced all forms of pregnancy and infant loss.

  • Partner with and equip hospitals to improve the care and support given to bereaved parents.

  • Collaborate with organizations that make a meaningful impact within the perinatal loss community.

BLOOM: Bringing Light Out of Mourning

As part of our mission, we host BLOOM, our monthly support group gatherings for parents navigating life after loss.  BLOOM offers a safe and nurturing space to share stories, find connection, and heal together.  Each meeting centers on reflection, community, and remembrance – reminding every parent that even in grief, there can be growth and light.  You can learn more about BLOOM and find meeting details on our dedicated page.

“Losing a child is a life-changing event. No matter the situation or length of gestation, a loss can be difficult to recover from physically, emotionally, and mentally.  It is something no parent should ever have to experience and yet approximately 1 in 4 pregnancies end in a loss, making it much more common than many people believe.”
Through the Heart

We hope that the information and resources shared on our website – through our blog, events, and social media – bring awareness to perinatal loss and offer comfort, connection, and healing to all who visit.
