DESCRIPTION:A Walk to Remember began as a way to simply remember our sweet babies lost through miscarriage\, stillbirth or infant loss. This will be the third year for the walk and we are excited to see it grow as people become more aware of the resources and support available for those walking through this difficult journey. Our desire is to come together as a group of friends and family members who have personally experienced this kind of loss or know someone who has. It’s a morning to remember\, grieve and celebrate the lives of our precious little ones even though our time with them was nowhere long enough on Earth. No one has to walk through the pain alone….no one has to feel like there isn’t hope….no one needs to feel like no one else understands. There is a beautiful thing that happens when we can empathize with others…..it’s a compassion and understanding that is deep and sincere. We can cry together and find joy together….yes\, Joy…because though pain comes in the night…Joy does come in the morning. Our prayer is that together we can encourage one another in that Joy that God promises through the pain and loss and tears and screaming and anger and doubt…He is good and He gives joy.  \nWe would love to see you June 9th whether you have experienced a loss or know someone who has or you just want to support the beautiful non-profit ministries of Titan’s Light and Lullaby of Hope. DESCRIPTION:“Mother’s Day is a day of appreciation and respect.  I can think of no Mothers who deserve it more\, than those that had to give a child back.” Erma Bombeck \n  \nMother’s Day is a day of the year that we come together to celebrate all mothers around the world. It’s a day that is intended to bring joy\, recognition\, love\, and appreciation to these incredible women that do so much for humanity. However\, if you have experienced the death of one or more of your babies or children (including adult children)\, struggle to conceive a child or are unable to fall pregnant at all\, this day can often bring up feelings of isolation\, unworthiness\, pain\, and sadness. Much of society has forgotten the true meaning of Mother’s Day and fails to support and recognize all true mothers. \nTHE HISTORY OF MOTHER’S DAY \nAmerican\, Anna Jarvis\, founded the official Mother’s Day in 1908 to honor her own mother\, Ann. Ann Jarvis gave birth to around a dozen children. Only 4 survived to grow into adults. Most of her children who died passed away from diseases such as the measles and typhoid fever. The history of this Mother’s Day is fascinating. With such heartfelt and meaningful roots\, it is devastating to see how through the years\, the true meaning of mother’s day has been somewhat lost and is now what some would describe as a commercialized card company event that people make millions of dollars from. The worst thing is that bereaved mothers are usually completely forgotten. \nMother’s Day was created in honour of a bereaved mother so we believe it is time to take this day back to its roots. For us to educate the rest of society on the true meaning of Mother’s Day\, we must use our voices. We become mothers the very moment that we open our hearts to the idea of conceiving a child. Let us remind people of this truth. \nABOUT INTERNATIONAL BEREAVED MOTHER’S DAY \nIn 2010\, I felt drawn to create International Bereaved Mother’s Day to help heal hurting Mother Hearts. International Bereaved Mother’s Day is intended to be a temporary movement. It is a heart-centered attempt at healing the official Mother’s Day for all mothers. I believe that we can do this and that sometime in the near future there will be no need for this day at all because all true mothers will be recognized\, loved\, supported and celebrated. This year’s Mother Hearts Project is set to open peoples eyes as to what it is like to live as a bereaved mother. \nSunday\, May 6th\, 2018\, get together with your closest friends and family and celebrate your beautiful Mother Heart. Celebrate your babies and children.  Let’s speak about the true meaning of Mother’s Day. Let us start some healing conversations.

DESCRIPTION:What is Kyleigh’s Gift?\nRodger and Leann Weller created Kyleigh’s Gift after the passing of their daughter\, Kyleigh Elizabeth in 2012. Today\, the fund touches thousands each year through OB staff training\, safe sleep and infant crying initiatives\, providing equipment and meal support for struggling families\, and creating memory boxes and care packages for those facing pregnancy or infant loss. The fund is housed at the Liberty Hospital Foundation. \nWhy a Diaper Drive?\nOne in five Kansas City children live in poverty. The diaper need for these families is real. Babies and children who have access to clean\, fresh diapers are healthier and happier. Since 2015\, over 31\,000 diapers have been collected in memory of Kyleigh on her birthday. The annual Diaper Drive is a way to honor her and all that Kyleigh’s Gift is doing for infants and families in the community. \nWhere do the diapers go?\nDiapers will be distributed among Liberty North Star – Baby Grace\, HappyBottoms\, and Lee’s Summit Social Services. \nHow can I give?\nScroll down for links to Amazon and Target wish lists to purchase diapers that are sent directly to us. SUMMARY:Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day
DESCRIPTION:Robyn Bear\, envisioned a day when all grieving parents could come together and be surrounded by love and support from their friends and families.  A day where the community could better understand their pain and learn how to reach out those grieving.  While our babies’ lives were so brief\, they were also very meaningful.  Yet\, there was not a time to talk about them.  Our society seemed to forget or perhaps\, simply didn’t know how to reach out.  Since October had been proclaimed “Awareness Month”\, she chose a day\, in the middle of the month to become\, “Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day”.  We are asking everyone in all time zones\, worldwide\, to join us in a candle lighting ceremony at 7pm on October 15th.

DESCRIPTION:In October 1988\, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed October as National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.  “When a child loses his or her parent\, they are called an orphan.  When a spouse loses her or his partner\, they are called a widow or widower.  When parents lose their child\, there isn’t a word to describe them.  This month recognizes the loss so many parents experience across the United States and around the world.  It is also meant to inform and provide resources for parents who have lost children due to miscarriage\, ectopic pregnancy\, molar pregnancy\, stillbirths\, birth defects\, SIDS\, and other causes.”
